NEWGuardrail testing for coding agents

Prove your agent
guardrails hold.

denyproof runs probe suites against your Claude Code, Codex and Cursor setup, catches silent regressions after every agent update and keeps an audit trail of every passing run.

You're on the list. We'll email you when your first probe run is ready.

Why now

Agents ship weekly. Guardrails move with them.

Every agent release can change how a rule matches, how a shell expands or which settings file wins. denyproof re-tests the whole policy each time, so your team knows the moment one moves.

31

Public reports of agent guardrails behaving differently than configured, since August.

3

Agents covered from day one: Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, each with its own probe set.

39

Probes in the starter suite, across deny rules, sandboxes, managed settings, hooks and MCP.

How it works

Point. Probe. Prove.

The CLI reads the same config your agents read, runs harmless canary attempts against each guardrail and records exactly what held.

01

Point

Reads your settings, managed policy, hooks and sandbox profile for each agent on the machine.

Probe

Runs safe canaries: decoy secrets, sandbox escapes, blocked hosts and denied commands.

03

Prove

Signs every result, keeps the history and alerts your team when a guardrail drifts.

Probe library

Every guardrail you set, tested.

Each probe uses a canary built for the job: decoy files, a sinkhole host, a throwaway branch. Your real secrets and systems stay out of every run.

Audit trail

Evidence your security team can show.

Every run is signed, timestamped and kept, so the answer to "do our agent controls work?" is a link, ready for any review.

  • Scheduled runs across repos. Daily, on every agent release, or on every policy change.
  • Drift alerts. Slack, email or webhook, with the version, the probe and the fix.
  • Audit history. Every result kept with its hash, config version and agent version.
  • Policy packs. Ready probe sets for secrets, prod data and release branches.

FAQ

Good questions.

More at hello@denyproof.dev.

What does a probe actually do?

It asks the agent to attempt one specific action your guardrail targets, such as reading a decoy .env or reaching a sinkhole host, and records whether the guardrail stopped it. Each probe uses canaries, so your real secrets and systems stay out of the run.

Which agents and settings are covered?

Claude Code deny rules, managed settings, hooks and sandbox; Codex sandbox modes and config.toml settings; Cursor command denylists and MCP settings. New agent releases get probe updates within days.

How is this different from a policy linter?

A linter reads your config. denyproof tests the running agent with that config, which is how it catches a rule that reads correctly and still lets a subshell or a new tool path through after an update.

Where do probes run?

On the developer machine with the free CLI, in your CI for Pro, and on a schedule across repos for Team. Enterprise runs everything on a self-hosted runner inside your network.

What do I get with early access?

First access to the CLI and the hosted dashboard, a direct line to the team building it, and early pricing on the plan you pick.
